Freer is an app that helps you move past nicotine and vaping, one urge at a time. This policy explains what information Freer collects, why, where it goes, and the control you have over it. It is written to be read, not to hide things.
Freer is operated by the developer of Freer ("we," "us"). If you have questions, contact us at freer.app.support@gmail.com.
When you create an account, we collect your email address, your name or display name, and a unique account identifier. You can create your account with an email and password, with Sign in with Apple, or with Google. When you use Sign in with Apple or Google, that provider gives us a sign-in token to create your account; we never receive your Apple or Google password. If you use Sign in with Apple and choose "Hide My Email," Apple provides us a private relay email address instead of your personal one.
Because Freer helps you reduce and stop nicotine use, some of the information you provide is health-related. During setup and ongoing use, you may provide:
We treat this as sensitive information. It is used only to operate the app and show you your own progress. It is never used for advertising and is never sold.
We record how you interact with the app — for example, opening the app, starting an urge support session, completing a breathing exercise, and which screens you visit — so the experience works correctly and so we can understand, in aggregate, how the app is being used. This information is stored in your own account record and is not shared with advertising or analytics networks. Freer does not use Firebase Analytics, advertising identifiers, or any third-party advertising or cross-app tracking SDK.
Freer uses Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and basic diagnostic information — such as your device model, operating system version, and the state of the app at the time of a crash — so we can find and fix stability problems. This is used only to keep the app working reliably. It is never used for advertising and is never sold.
If you turn on notifications, we register a device push token (through Apple Push Notification service and Firebase Cloud Messaging) so we can send you the reminders and milestone notifications you enable — for example, celebrating when you get through your 1st, 10th, 50th, or 100th urge. The token is tied to your account and is deleted when you delete your account. You can turn notifications off at any time in your iOS Settings.
If you purchase a subscription, the purchase is processed by Apple and managed through RevenueCat, our subscription provider. We receive your subscription status and a purchase identifier so we can unlock paid features. We never receive your full payment card details, and we do not send your email, name, or health information to RevenueCat.
We do not use your information for advertising, profiling for ads, or any form of cross-app or cross-site tracking.
We do not sell your information. We share it only with the service providers that make the app work:
| Provider | What it handles |
|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Auth & Firestore) | Account sign-in and secure storage of your app data. |
| Google Firebase (Crashlytics & Cloud Messaging) | Crash reporting and delivery of push notifications. |
| RevenueCat | Managing your subscription status. |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple and processing your subscription purchase. |
Each provider handles data under its own privacy policy: Google Firebase, RevenueCat, Apple.
Resetting your progress in the app permanently deletes your urge history and activity history, and sets your usage stats back to zero. Your account, your setup answers, and your lifetime best streak are kept, so you can start a fresh streak without re-doing setup.
Deleting your account from inside the app permanently removes everything associated with you — your profile, your setup answers, your full urge and activity history, and your sign-in credentials. This cannot be undone.
To request a copy of your data or ask any privacy question, email freer.app.support@gmail.com.
We keep your information for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, or delete specific data using the controls above, that data is removed from our active systems. Backups maintained by our service providers may persist for a limited period under their standard retention practices.
Your data is stored on Google Firebase's secured infrastructure and is access-controlled so that your account data is associated with your account. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and limit access to it.
Freer is intended for adults aged 18 and older and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.
We may update this policy as the app evolves. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be communicated in the app where appropriate.
